SAVE the date for our Annual Trunk Or Treat event! It will be on Friday October 28 here at the RCIS parking lot. Students are encouraged to dress up and bring an empty bag or pillow case so they can trick or treat safely while staff fill their bags with candy from their decorated trunks of their cars. This is the family event that students remember year after year. If you want to donate candy for the event please have your child bring donated candy to school and give to Ms. M. All candy donated will be used at the event!

Our first PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) meeting will be held on Wednesday October 19th at 4pm here at RCIS. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. This is a parent and teacher volunteer team and we are hoping to make the RCIS PTO strong! We need as many volunteers as possible. We hope to see as many of our RCIS families there as possible!

In February we had our 2nd PBIS PRIDE Assembly. Respect was our featured PRIDE Value which means "we treat others the way we want to be treated," and each classroom teacher, support teacher, and specialist teacher choose one student who has been showing that PRIDE value since November. We alsos awarded the students who have had perfect attendance!

It has been a very productive first Trimester at RCIS! Right before Thanksgiving break we celebrated all of the handwork of our students with a STEM Parade and our first monthly PBIS PRIDE Assembly. Perseverance is our first PRIDE value which means "to keep on trying even when it is hard" and each classroom teacher choose one student who has been showing that PRIDE value since September. We also awarded the students who have had perfect attendance!

Our incredible STEM Teacher, Mrs. Jordan, has created a Video Production Room here at RCIS.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The RCIS Family Engagement Center is hosting our FIRST in-person event of this school year. Please join us for an end of the year Summer Family Fun & Resource Fair. ALL RCIS families are encouraged to join us for this amazing event. Wednesday June 9th 3pm-5pm at RCIS

RCIS families please join us Wednesday March 24, 2021 at 4pm for a Virtual Family Fun Night and become an Attendance Hero!! We will be playing three games: Charades, Bingo, and Trivia. Plus we will be announcing Perfect students who have shown perfect attendance since September.

Principal Somes is excited to announce that RCIS will be transitioning students in grades Kindergarten to Grade 5 who are in Cohort C to Cohort A, meaning full in-person learning. Once all Cohort C students are transition to Cohort A we will no longer offer the hybrid model option for students. The transition plan Principal Somes shares in the video is also outlined below, located on our district website, and Class Dojo.

Attention Renaissance Families with students in 5th Grade, you are invited to a “Family Info Session: From Elementary to Middle School” this is a virtual event. You will learn how to better support your 5th grade students with their transition to middle school and also learn more about what to expect in middle school. The transition to Middle School can feel like a very big change because it is and at this event you will learn that you are not alone!

RCIS’s Family Engagement Center will be hosting a Virtual Parent Café Series starting on February 24 at 4:00pm. The series will consist 5 Parent Café's that will take place on 4th Wednesday in February, March, April, and June.

Hello Renaissance Community we have some exciting news: on Saturday February 6, 2021 from 9am-12pm we will be offering a Basic Computer Class here at school in the Gomes Auditorium.
