RCIS Transition Plan to Full In-person Learning
Posted on 02/25/2021
Principal Somes is excited to announce that RCIS will be transitioning students in grades Kindergarten to Grade 5 who are in Cohort C to Cohort A, meaning full in-person learning. Once all Cohort C students are transition to Cohort A we will no longer offer the hybrid model option for students. The transition plan Principal Somes shares in a video located on our Facebook page: RCIS Facebook is also outlined below, located on our district website, and Class Dojo.
💙 Kindergarten Students from Mrs. Rose's class will return next Monday March 1, 2021 to full in-person learning Monday-Friday 8am-3pm.
💛 Students in Grades 1-3 (Ms. Corso, Mrs., G, and Ms. Mackes' classes) are scheduled to return Monday March 15, 2021 to full in-person learning Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, except Wednesdays dismissal will be at 3pm.
💙 Students in Grades 4-5 (Ms. Whipp and Mr. Cohen's classes) are scheduled to return Monday March 22, 2021 to full in-person learning Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, except Wednesdays dismissal will be at 3pm.
💛 Students in Cohort D will remain as Distant Academy classes as fully remote: Mrs. Barnes' 4th grade class and Mrs. Watson's 5th grade class.
💙 Students will continue to enter the building in the morning and be dismissed at the end of the day just as they have been throughout the year.
💛 We WILL continue to focus on social distancing and adhering to the 6ft between all.
💙 Masks will continue to be worn by all at all times, except during mask breaks outside and lunch.
💛 Lunch will no longer be in the classroom, instead we will be setting up lunch tables and staggering lunch so we can continue to provide the 6ft and social distancing. We will have plexi-glass dividers between students while they eat.
💙 Specialists: music, art, PE, and STEM will continue to be provided to your student within their class room. Whenever possible PE will be outside so please make sure your child has a sweatshirt or jacket on cooler days.
💛 Students experiencing COVID symptoms during the school day will continue to be checked and possibly sent home by our school nurses and we ask that you please continue to use the daily screener before sending students to school, which can be found on our district website: (https://renaissance.newbedfordschools.org/)
💙 We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Please continue to check our website for updates as we will update accordingly here on our district website, on our Facebook page RCIS Facebook, Class Dojo, and voicemails. If any of your contact information has changed please contact the school immediately so that you do not miss out on any of the updates. 508-997-4511 ext 55550.
💛 If you have any other questions please contact the school.
💙 Lastly, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to the most amazing RCIS families and students. This has been challenging, but because we have continued to work together and show our Phoenix PRIDE we are able to make this change happen.
